In the Beginning, There Was a Mantra.
If you’re anything like me, when you read the typical corporate mission statement, your eyes glaze over and some random tune starts playing through your head (usually some song I hate, like Justin Timberlake.) They are long, drawn out, and, like every bit of prose engineered to be politically correct, totally bland and uninspiring. I’ve always struggled with the idea. I much prefer the idea of a mantra, three or four words that cut to the essence of what you’re doing.
